LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michele Fiore is reacting to an effort to remove her from office.

A group called Expel Michele along with the NAACP and other community activists filed a formal misconduct complaint against the former mayor pro tem.

It is over her comments on a local radio show.

The group claims she violated her oath of office when she was heard calling people who signed the recall against her "socialists" and say she stalked their social media pages.

Councilwoman Fiore stands by comments, apologies to those offended

They also accuse her of voter intimidation.

Previously, the groups wrote a letter to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to try to have her removed from the board - citing what they call Fiore's racial undertones.

The LVCVA says its members don't have the power to remove her. That decision falls to the city.

Michele Fiore is denying the allegations.
