(KGTV) -- Costco’s food court can be a go-to spot for anyone looking for a fast and inexpensive bite to eat, but soon only warehouse members may be the only ones allowed to take advantage of the cheap eats such as the $1.50 hot dog/soda combo or $1 churro.
10News visited the Mountain View-area Costco at 650 Gateway Center Dr. and spotted the signs just below the menu and at a table where memberships are sold.
On social media, numerous Costco members across the country said they have seen signs posted at warehouses that indicated memberships would be required starting March 16 to purchase items at food courts.

The Instagram account @CostcoDeals, which has nearly 600,000 followers, posted a photo of a sign stating: “Effective March 16, 2020, an active Costco membership card will be required to purchase items from our food court. You can join today. Please see our membership counter for details.”
However, @CostcoDeals noted that while they learned the membership decision is confirmed, it may not be carried out at every store.
The cost of a Costco membership starts at $60 per year.
10News reached out to Costco for confirmation and comment, and a company representative said that “management has no comment at this time.”
