UPDATE MARCH 30: The Clark County Coroner has determined the cause of death for Aumnie Halper to have been acute ethanol intoxication and the incident was ruled an accident.

The Clark County coroner has identified the teenager who died on New Year’s Day as 13-year-old Aumnie Halper.

According to Las Vegas police, they were called by the fire department to a home in the The Ridges community in the Summerlin area after an unresponsive teen was discovered.

Halper was transported to a local hospital where she died.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has referred to it as an “alcohol-related incident.” However, the cause of death from the coroner is still pending.

LVMPD said previously they are waiting on an autopsy report before deciding whether or not to investigate the death.

Halper was a student at the Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain.
