LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — With many people staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic it is important to stay active.
The YMCA has announced it is launching a new virtual P.E. class.
Here is the YMCA's full statement:
Anxiety is at an all-time high and one of the best ways to reduce stress in children is to ensure they get their daily dose of endorphins. Just because the Y has closed their doors amid this crisis, they are still committed to helping local youth stay fit and healthy. This is why the Y’s Health & Wellness team is excited to launch their Virtual Homeschool PE series, starting on April 2. The community is invited to join the Y every Thursday at 12:30 PM, live on Zoom, for a 30-minute physical education lesson from trained Y staff. The Y will combine exercise, games and fun activities to give children a great foundation for a strong body and mind. The best part is all of these activities can be done from the comforts of a living room. Our Y team is happy to be virtually reunited with our Homeschool PE families and members, but non-members are also welcome to participate. The Y is excited to utilize Zoom as a tool to interact with all of their participants live. They ask that participants please bear with them during the first few classes, as all of the technical kinks are worked through.
