HENDERSON (KTNV) — An employee at a Vons grocery store in Henderson has tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee was an associate at the Vons store located at 2667 W. Windmill Pkwy., at the corner of Pecos Road.
The employee is receiving medical care., following the test, according to a statement released by the company, and has not worked at the store since April 5.
The company also said a crisis response team might also recommend that additional employees self-quarantine, per the CDC guidelines, and that those employees will be eligible to receive up to 14 days of quarantine pay.

The store has been through multiple cycles of enhanced cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting processes since that day, according to Vons.
And it said it has conducted a thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting with guidance from third-party sanitization experts.
The store does remain open, and Vons said it will continue to follow the enhanced cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting process.

Tuesday's statement from the company ended with the following:
"We have reaffirmed with all associates that they need to wash hands and disinfect check stands every hour and to practice social distancing. We have also reminded them that if they develop a fever and symptoms of respiratory illness, such as a cough or shortness of breath, stay home, and call their healthcare provider right away."
