LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Southern Nevada Health District released a new campaign to motivate and remind people of the proper steps against COVID- 19 amid the holiday season.
Several local families are preparing for Thanksgiving but say they know that this year will be different.
Nevada reports 1,665 new cases Wednesday, 15.6% positivity last 2 weeks
13 Action News' viewers shared that most of them were not having big gatherings or relatives from out of town while taking recommendations from health experts seriously.
“We really encourage people not to travel, not to gather with folks out of your household. Because these situations have proven time and time again as environments for easy transmission of the virus to other people,” said Dr. Cort Lohff,
As the SNHD Acting Medical Director, Dr. Lohff is part of the campaign that will be seen around town starting Nov. 20.
The health district is urging everyone to wear face coverings when in public, maintain physical distance and to wash their hands frequently.
For Thanksgiving, the SNHD recommends celebrating only with people who share the same home and the CDC provided these tips.
