LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center says it will allow visitors back to the facility.

Each patient may have one visitor between the hours of 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.

“When our patients didn’t have visitors, we knew it was up to our Southern Hills colleagues to step up and fill that role,” said Alexis Mussi, chief executive officer of Southern Hills Hospital, in a statement to the media. “Our team suddenly became not only medical caretakers for these patients but emotional support as well.”

All visitors will enter through the main entrance and will be screened, logged and masked.

Patients who screen positive will be asked to delay their entry to the Hospital.

“The safety of our community, colleagues and patients is always our top priority,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Domenic Martinello. “We know loved ones and family members play a vital role in recovery and we’re thankful to be in a place where we can welcome them back.”

Southern Hills began restricting visitors in March. During that time, the hospital relied heavily on virtual visitations for patients with the use of hospital supplied iPads.
