A recent study found that Nevada is ranked #3 among states experiencing the most coronavirus-related fraud.
The data was collected from the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Census Bureau to find the states with the most coronavirus-related fraud, how much Americans have lost to the fraud, and the most common types of fraud.
A few key points found:
- Nevada is 3rd in our ranking of the worst states for coronavirus-related fraud with 15.3 complaints per 100,000 residents.
- Massachusetts is the worst state for coronavirus-related fraud. Massachusetts sees 23.4 fraud complaints per 100,000 residents.
- U.S. residents lost over $5 million to coronavirus-related credit card fraud in under five months.
