NEVADA (KTNV) — Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak held a press conference Wednesday evening to discuss the latest updates regarding steps Nevada is taking to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
Gov. Sisolak spoke to the public from the inside of the Old Assembly Chamber at the Nevada State Capitol and livestreamed the latest announcement on his Facebook page.
During Wednesday's press conference Gov. Sisolak said the death toll within Nevada stood at 32 from COVID-19 and that he was activating the National Guard for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic within the state.
The governor said the National Guard will be assisting with deliveries and logistics as the members have experience with large level responses.

He also signed a new directive to get more healthcare workers to Nevada, with the Battle Born Medical Corps. The team will enlist help from retired medical professionals offered a chance to return to work to further help the state during the current pandemic.

The state also announced more than $6 million in funds to combat COVID-19 with money going to buy personal protective equipment.
