Nellis Air Force Base reinstating 24/7 access on Aug. 31

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Leadership at Nellis Air Force Base has decided to reinstate 24/7 base access to all beneficiaries beginning Aug. 31 after being closed to many amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some base facilities will remain under limited access and will not reopen to all beneficiaries at this time.

Those services include:
· The Club
· Warrior Fitness Center
· ID Card Renewals - Retiree ID cards will remain valid despite the expiration date until ID card renewal services are reopened to all beneficiaries.

Aug. 23 will be the last date that the Satellite Pharmacy will be open on the weekend.

Starting Aug. 31, the Satellite Pharmacy will resume its normal hours of operation Monday through Friday and will no longer be open on Saturdays and Sundays.

A spokesperson for the base told 13 Action News that while most of its events have evolved with the current environment, those with a base ID may use their ID card to access base to attend official functions if needed.

All guests who visit the base must wear a face mask and practice social distancing of six feet.

In an email, to 13 Action News, a spokesperson for the base said, "Those who choose not to wear a mask in our facilities will be asked to leave."
