LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — In a tweet without much context, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman voiced her opinion on a "recall effort" on social media Thursday afternoon.

The mayor wrote:
Regarding recall effort: This is America. That’s his choice
It's unclear exactly what recall effort she is referring to.
It is worth noting, Doug Polk, a former professional poker player, filed a notice of intent on Wednesday with the Las Vegas City Clerk's office to try and recall the mayor. The mayor did not mention Polk in the tweet or provide any other information.

Goodman has been an outspoken critic of the statewide shutdown, speaking to CNN's Anderson Cooper about reopening Nevada, and more recently sharing a two-page statement on social media highlighting a handful of Las Vegans who she says called her office to share how the shutdown has negatively impacted them.

There have also been protests against some of the orders issued by the governor. The last two weekends in April there were rallies in downtown Las Vegas and in Northern Nevada.
