LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A local teenager didn't let the coronavirus get in the way of his Bar Mitzvah, a coming-of-age ceremony for a Jewish boy.
Maverick, 13, was prepared and wanted to celebrate even though he couldn't have a party.
Congregation Ner Tamid Rabbi Sanford Akselrad and Cantor Jessica Hutchings helped make the celebration happen, along with his parents.
Maverick chanted from the Torah and his Haftorah and led a full Shabbat morning service from home on Facebook live.
