We're just days away from the biggest shopping day of the year. Stores will be offering huge discounts on gifts for the entire family. But the biggest changes for most stores is happening in the toy department. 13 Consumer Advocate Tricia Kean has your look at this year's Black Friday deals.
Toys, toys, so many toys! Stores are stocking up to make sure they have what every good boy and girl wants. With Toys 'R' Us closed for business, retailers are hoping to scoop up billions in toy sales this holiday season. And Walmart expects to be a major player.
"We've gotten a wider variety of toys then we've ever had in stock in our stores," says Walmart's Tiffany Wilson.
You can expect to find popular items like Hatchimals and Fingerlings. Plus retro arcade games in large and even miniature sizes. And to separate themselves from the competition, Walmart is partnering with Ryan's World. This 8-year-old toy reviewer is a huge hit on YouTube, with more than 15 million subscribers.
Walmart promises to have plenty of stuff for mom and dad too; like exclusive Pioneer Woman kitchen gadgets, and get a $300 to $400 Walmart gift card when you buy select smartphones.
Target expects to give Walmart a run for its money. It's slashing 50 percent off some of it's most popular toys; like half off this Star Wars BB8 robot. Plus this exclusive Barbie bundle set and Tickle Me Elmo. For adults, look for up to $300 off some 4K Ultra HD televisions.
"They do a sale price on every single one of our TVs. So you're going to find a great deal," says Target's Jill Paun.
And you'll find half off the Amazon Echo Dot, Generation 2 or 3. Then when you're done shopping, there's a bonus.
"If you shop with us anytime on Friday, if you spend over $75 you will get a 20% off coupon to come back and visit us the following week. It's going to be 20% off your total purchase," says Paun.
Kohl's is looking to stake it's own claim in the toy department. So for the first time, Legos are making their debut at the store.
"There's going to be some exclusive Legos that are only going to be found at Kohl's, says the store's Bryan Stanley.
Kohl's is also partnering with toy maker FAO Schwarz and offering a line of toys; including this 3D Spin Art set, this Ultimate Magic Set and of course their classic stuffed animals. Then there are plenty of "Jammies for the Families." Plus door busters like half-off the popular Instant Pot. But that's not all.
"When you shop at Kohl's, you're going to get $15 in Kohl's cash for every $50 spent," says Stanley.
Finally not to be left out, Best Buy is adding a toy section for the first time.
"We have a huge section of toys now from drones, to Legos, LOL Surprise! dolls that all the little girls love. We have a huge section of Barbies. Big assortment of video games," says Best Buy's Monze Garcia.
But of course, there's plenty of deals on toys for the whole family.
"Not only do we have awesome deals, up to 50% off on televisions or more. We have great deals on MacBook Pros for your College students or anyone who likes apple products at home," says Garcia.
Plus discounts of up to $150 off select smart watches and deals on smart home products; like $130 off the Amazon Echo Show.
