More than four years later, the community is paying tribute with a new park dedicated to the memory of officer Beck.

The Officer Alyn Beck Memorial Park will be located at 9220 Brent Lane, near Kyle Canyon Road and U.S. Highway 95.

The park will feature several amenities including a lacrosse field, soccer fields, basketball court along with a shaded playground with benches for families.

Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony was put on by city leaders and Beck's loved ones.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Sheriff Joe Lombardo and Councilwoman Michele Fiore kicked off the start of construction.

Plans for a memorial park for officer Soldo are also in the making with Fiore saying a statue of both officers will be featured at the park.

Officer Beck's widow Nicole felt that the community has been very supportive since they day she lost her husband.

"It's an amazing thing. It says a lot about the community, how they feel about their officers. The community has supported us over these years and we've felt it," Nicole Beck said.
