One of three College of Southern Nevada campuses is poised to add North Las Vegas to its name.
City and school administrators said Thursday the Nevada state Board of Regents will be asked next week to rename the Cheyenne Avenue campus as the College of Southern Nevada North Las Vegas Campus.
Mayor John Lee pushed for months to add the city name, to show that his town has an educated workforce.
College President Michael Richards says it highlights the local school focus.
The city says private donors will pay to change the campus sign.
It'd be the third name change for the college founded in 1971 as Clark County Community College.
It became the Community College of Southern Nevada in 1991, and the College of Southern Nevada in 2007.
