In a statement sent out on Thursday the district said the following:

"The Clark County School District condemns the actions of the violent rioters who stormed the Capitol.

As we struggle to help our children understand the impacts of these historic events, our educators must be clear about the importance of restoring peace and democracy in the months and years to come. Non-partisan classroom discussions will play a critical role in helping students to comprehend the social and legal consequences of the abhorrent actions we all witnessed on Capitol Hill.

The district encourages students to have informational, respectful conversations with their educators about issues and topics important to them. As educators, part of our responsibility is to allow students to have these educational conversations in a safe environment without fear of judgment."
