Clark County Commissioners moved forward with making a work group to write an ordinance to stop the sale of dogs from puppy mills and have stores showcase only pets from animal shelters.
There are only one or two stories in Clark County using puppy mills.
Last month, the Las Vegas City Council passed a similar bill. Pet shop owners were given two years to adjust to the new rules.
Supporters said the goal is to end puppy mill style dog breeding and find homes for the hundreds of animals in local shelters.
