City officials announce NYE plans

Posted
Las Vegas city leaders have finally released all the details about this year's New Year’s Eve Celebration! They're calling it "America's Party!"

Mayor Carolyn Goodman and the Chairman of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority led the big announcement at Fashion Show Mall.

Officials expect more than 300,000 revelers to fill the Strip and downtown Las Vegas.

This year, fireworks will launch from seven rooftops along the Las Vegas strip. All of them will be coordinated into one big 8-minute show of light and sound.

The display will be synchronized with popular recordings by Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, and Mariah Carey.

If you'd rather enjoy live performances indoors, several headliners will take the Strip by storm: Maroon 5, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, just to name a few. In light of the terrorist attacks in Paris and the mass shooting in San Bernardino, officials are taking security very seriously.

If you're going downtown instead of the Strip, you can look forward to a concert featuring 13 of the world's greatest tribute bands.
