UPDATE MAY 17: Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Hilton’s luxury hotel brand, announced plans to convert the Mandarin Oriental on the Las Vegas Strip to the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas in August 2018.
Waldorf Astoria will assume full operation of the property with plans to re-imagine and renovate the hotel with brand touches and improvements.
It will be the second Waldorf Astoria in the western United States with the other in Beverly Hills, California.

City Center is selling the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.
City Center is a venture between MGM Resorts International and Infinity World Development Corporation.
The hotel's selling price is $214 million. The deal is expected to close in the summer of 2018.
The buyer has not been disclosed.
