LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Storing your tree in the attic or the basement after the holiday season could potentially be harmful.
Sometimes your fresh cut or artificial tree could be the reason you're sniffling, sneezing and taking a trip to the doctors office.
Dr. Joel Katz of the Allergy and Asthma Center here in the valley says he has treated some who have suffered from an allergic reaction due to dust or mold from their Christmas trees.
To protect yourself from Christmas tree syndrome, try washing off your real or artificial tree before placing it out in open space, dust off decorations and lights and wear long sleeve clothing while putting up your tree.
