The children of a valley mom stabbed and left to die in her own home spoke out to 13 Action News.

Brittany Wise, Linda's oldest daughter, said her mom was a genuinely good person who cared about others. Linda was found dead Friday in her home near Russell Road and Nellis Boulevard.

"She never had a lot of money, but she would help people any other way she could," said Brittany.

Brittany and her brother Angel said their mom's caring nature extended to total strangers, or even people who had done her wrong in the past.

"I remember her telling me recently, she says, 'I don't know I just can't say no,'" said Angel.

Angel told 13 Action News Linda's ex-boyfriend Michael Garcia, now a person of interest in the case, had asked her for help. Brittany and Angel are shocked by what happened to their mother, even though they had had their reservations about Garcia.

Linda told her kids she was going on vacation, so when they did not hear from her they were not surprised. They said it was not out of the ordinary for her to unplug on vacation. Brittany and Angel said their younger sister forgot about the trip that never happened and went to the house –- where she found her mother stabbed to death.

"It was just something that was so shocking that you can never ever think that would happen, especially in that way," Brittany said. "It's not something you can ever prepare for in a violent, brutal, heartless way like that."

Wise's family is hoping police can solve the case and get them closure. For now, they are cherishing the last moments spent with their mom.

"I remember not too long ago, a few months ago, I remember thanking her, saying 'you know I don't always agree with you and I'll argue with you about it,' but I told her, 'I appreciate how you've raised us,'" said Angel.

If you know anything about Garcia or where he might be, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department wants to hear from you. Linda's children think he may have run off to California.

Linda's family has also set up a GoFundMe page to help with final expenses and cleaning the home.
