A series of storm systems will swing through the West over the next several days and allow cooler air to dive southward into Las Vegas over the weekend.
Rain and thunderstorms worked through the valley Wednesday night as an upper low crossed the Desert Southwest. Highs will remain close to average in the middle 80s behind this system for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The next upper level low will arrive Saturday into Sunday, bringing the chance for showers along with some much cooler air.
A 10° drop to highs only in the mid 70s is anticpated on Sunday as a northwest wind gusts to 30 mph. Lows will fall to the upper 50s at night.
That cool pattern should remain in place through much of next week, so expect a cooler-than-average period in Las Vegas through mid-October.
