LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Clark County School District Board of Trustees rejected the motion to approve Dr. Jesus Jara's resignation package.
Last week, Jara announced he had submitted a letter of resignation, seeking an end date of February 21.
The vote was 4-3 to not accept his resignation.
The board was also expected to take up an item to appoint deputy superintendent Brenda Larsen-Mitchell to the job.
The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) expressed concern about the option stating having her in that position would be a continuation of 'the same problems.'
Parents also expressed concern about the process being rushed.
