Clark County School District, Las Vegas police and the school police department held a press conference on Wednesday to discuss school safety before the start of school next week.
The school district says it's assigning more police officers to high schools around the valley.
It also said it will continue using canines to randomly search for weapons.
District officials are also reminding parents that if they see something, they should say something.
The CCSD Police Department has a 24/7 tip line and you can also report any possible threats or suspicious activity through the Safe Voice app.
More than 300,000 students will return to school next Monday.
