Neighbors say they are on the lookout for two people after an attempted break-in at a North Las Vegas home last Wednesday.
It happened shortly before noon inside a gated complex near Aliante Parkway and the 215 Beltway.
Jeff Berry came home to find one of his windows had been shattered.
"They were using some kind of tool to pry this out," said Berry, "when the young lady came ... she probably knocked on the door."
Berry's wife was fast asleep inside the home. Berry said she did not hear the duo outside.
Surveillance video shows a man and a woman walking up to Berry's door before the break-in.
"You can see them rushing out of here, I guess that's when the dog started barking," he said.
The family owns two pit bulls.
A police report has been filed.
Neighbors said they hope the surveillance video will lead to an arrest. Berry said he's grateful the community is uniting to fight crime.
"We've only been here a few months, and they seem to have accepted us," said Berry. "Neighbors looking out for neighbors so we don't have to rely on the police because by the time they would have arrived, it would have been over and done with."
