California homicide suspect arrested in Las Vegas

Jovan Meeks, 21, a fugitive wanted in California by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office was arrested in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s S.W.A.T. Unit and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
 
 A warrant was issued charging Meeks with homicide.
 
U.S. Marshals developed information that Meeks fled to Las Vegas and he was arrested in the vicinity of Carey Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.  Meeks was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending his extradition to California.
 
District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated, “This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending fugitives who think they can hide in the valley.”
