The Henderson Fire Department is investigating what started a large brush near Galleria and the U.S. 95 Sunday.
They say it started around 12:45 in the afternoon. Initially, crews had trouble reaching the flames because of its location.
The spread quickly spread through an patch of brush, also burning parts of what looked like a homeless camp.
The flames and smoke grew so large, they could be seen from miles away. They also dozens of onlookers who parked their cars nearby and walked up to take pictures.
By around 5 p.m., fire crews had the fire contained. They're still looking into the cause.
