UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Phongsavanh K. Phimvongsa of Las Vegas.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Police are investigating a body found at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts Monday morning.
Clark County School District police confirmed the body was found on the campus located at 7th Street and Bridger Avenue in downtown around 5:25 a.m., about an hour and a half before classes started.
Classes are continuing as normal and on time on the campus. The part of the campus where the body was found is taped off to students and regular foot traffic.
CCSD officials said crisis counselors are available for any students or staff who may be affected by the incident, however, officials noted that no students saw the body.
Las Vegas police are investigating the incident. They said the body of an adult male was found and it is believed to be a suicide.
