A baby died as a result of a crash back in March along Boulder Highway.

Around 1 p.m. March 10, a serious injury traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue.

A Toyota Corolla did not stop at a red light while going northbound on Boulder Highway and collided with a Mitsubishi Montero and Chevy Silverado, resulting in major damage to all vehicles. All occupants were transported to Sunrise Trauma Center with minor to serious injuries.

The front seat passenger inside the Toyota was pregnant with a 2225 week gestational age fetal male.

On March 14, the pregnant female responded to Spring Valley Hospital for an emergent delivery as the fetus lacked a heartbeat. The male fetus was delivered and medical personnel pronounced him deceased.

On Sept. 6, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fatal Detail received the coroner reports from the Clark County coroner's office. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries due to maternal motor vehicle accident and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

This collision marks the 73rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction in 2016.
