UPDATE JAN. 31: Nevada Highway Patrol says 2 people were killed in a crash on Sunday morning near Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
NHP says that a silver Lexus left the road and the drive over corrected when the vehicle ended up on the shoulder. This caused the vehicle rotate and enter the westbound lanes where it was struck by a Subaru. The force of the impact caused the Lexus to overturn. The occupants of the Lexus were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Subaru was transported by ground to UMC Trauma and the passenger was airlifted with critical injuries.
The driver of the Lexus has been identified as 58-year-old Huifang Liu from Las Vegas. The 53-year-old passenger has not been notified.
There have been 4 traffic-related fatalities in NHP's jurisdiction so far this year.

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal rollover crash.
The crash happened at 2:33 a.m. on State Route 159 near Calico Basin.
This is near Red Rock Canyon.
