An Arby's restaurant on Boulder Highway caught fire Saturday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m., the Clark County Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting that the Arby's restaurant located at 4954 Boulder Hwy., near Flamingo Road, was filling with smoke.

When firefighters arrived they found the restaurant had heavy smoke pouring out of the door. Upon entry into the structure firefighters were faced with high heat conditions combined with near zero visibility.

Firefighters quickly located the fire in the kitchen and storage areas of the building and began attacking it with multiple hand lines while fellow firefighters were on the roof using chain saws to open up holes to serve as ventilation ports for the smoke and fire. These efforts resulted in a knockdown of the fire in all involved areas in less than 17 minutes from the time of the 911 calls.

The two employees that were working at the restaurant at the time the fire started were able to safely exit the building prior to the arrival of the fire department.

A total of 32 firefighters from Clark County Fire responded to this incident. The Clark County Fire Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

There were no reported injuries.
