A new lawyer representing a self-described pimp accused of killing three people in a shooting and crash on the Las Vegas Strip says he expects a December trial date will be pushed back.
Defense Attorney Robert Langford said Tuesday he needs time to prepare for Ammar Harris' capital murder and attempted murder trial.
Langford says he thinks Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney will also postpone Ammar Harris' scheduled Nov. 20 sentencing stemming from Harris' conviction in September of rape and robbery in a separate case.
Langford and defense attorney Thomas Ericsson were appointed last week to represent Harris after a team of special public defenders withdrew.
Harris is accused of shooting aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. and causing a fiery wreck that killed a cab driver and passenger.
