Judge: Venue change unlikely in Las Vegas sex case

A judge says it's unlikely that a change of venue will be required for the sex assault trial of a self-described pimp accused of killing three people in a shooting and fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

Ammar Harris stood Monday wearing shackles and orange mitts on his hands while his lawyer argued pretrial issues in a felony case stemming from allegations that he raped a woman in 2010.

Harris has pleaded not guilty and faces trial July 8.

Court-appointed defense attorney Monica Trujillo argues that Harris can't get a fair trial in Las Vegas because of pretrial publicity.

He faces a separate trial in September stemming from the February shooting that killed a man driving a Maserati and two people in a taxi that burst into flames.
