Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new trial date has been scheduled for the accused Strip shooter Ammar Harris.

Harris was originally scheduled to go to trial but the start date has been pushed back to Sept. 8, 2014.

The reason for the delay is so that Harris' new defense attorneys will have time to prepare.

Thomas Ericsson and Robert Langford were appointed to represent Harris after his team of special public defenders withdrew.

Special Public Defender David Schieck told a Las Vegas judge that there had been a breakdown of trust and communication with Harris.

Ammar Harris is accused of killing three people on the Las Vegas Strip in February.

Harris allegedly shot aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. as the two of them drove down the Strip in separate vehicles.

After Cherry was shot, he crashed into a taxi. The driver and his passenger were killed.
