LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A lawsuit has been filed against Gov. Steve Sisolak by the Ahern Hotel near the Las Vegas Strip.

A pageant at the hotel and convention center was stopped 3 weeks ago by the City of Las Vegas business license officials and Las Vegas police.

The hotel was also fined $250 by the city for allegedly violating room capacity guidelines during a recent campaign event for President Trump.

The lawsuit was filed in Clark County District Court on Monday. It questions Emergency Directive 21 regarding public gatherings.

The hotel is claiming that the directive has “effectively foreclosed” its ability to host events.

The hotel is asking the court to declare the directive as invalid and unenforceable for event-hosting businesses that are otherwise compliant with directives related to social distancing and face coverings.
