After-school programs in Las Vegas for kids with low vision, blindness

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Registration is now open for Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation’s after-school programs.

The programs are for children with low vision and blindness in grades K-12.

Programs begin on August 12 and take place Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation Learning Center at 95 S. Arroyo Grande Blvd. in Henderson.

Programs include:

  • Mondays: Dance/Music/Art
  • Tuedays: Life Skills
  • Wednesdays: Robotics/STEAM
  • Thursdays: Scouts and 4-H
  • Fridays: Adaptive Recreation and Sports

NBCF will also offer daily Homework Help Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Individual tutoring is also available.

All of the NBCF after-school programs are offered at no cost.

Parents with children who are new to NBCF will need to call and schedule a tour prior to registering.
