Three adults and two children were displaced in a Monday night house fire.
Las Vegas firefighters responded to 2000 block of Mariposa Avenue, near St. Louis and Eastern avenues at 9:48 p.m. Monday after an occupant there called fire dispatchers to report their kitchen on fire.
When firefighters arrived, flames and smoke were showing from the front and right side of the house. Firefighters entered the house and found the kitchen on fire. They had the fire out in less than ten minutes.
Damage was confined to the kitchen; there was smoke damage in the rest of the one-story, wood-frame house.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
Clark County firefighters also assisted at the incident.
