A 39-year-old man died in an off-road ATV crash at the Jean Dry Lake Bed Sunday morning.

Police said sometime in the early morning hours, a Yamaha Banshee ATV was traveling alone through the lake bed east of Las Vegas Boulevard when it became airborne.

After landing, the rider was ejected from the ATV and came to rest on the ground. The rider was located around 7:25 a.m. and was determined deceased.

The Clark County coroner identified the man as William Elvon Couch of Las Vegas. His cause of death is pending.

The crash remains under investigation.

Sunday's crash was the second fatal incident in the Jean Dry Lake Bed in the past month. Carlos Guzman died in an ATV crash July 22.
