30 people displaced in Monday afternoon apartment fire

Firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Monday.
 
Around 12:01 p.m., the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) responded to a report of a fire at 4485 Pennwood, building 3,  #223.
 
CCFD responded a “high” level structural fire response sending 4 engines, 1 truck, 1 rescue, and 2 battalion chiefs which included resources from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.
 
Upon arrival,  personnel reported smoke coming from the eves of a two-story apartment complex.
 
More resources were needed and a second alarm was requested dispatching 6 more engines, 2 more trucks, 2 more rescues, 2 more battalion chiefs, an air resource, and a rehab unit.
 
Crews made an offensive attack and knocked the fire down at a reported time of 12:20 p.m.
 
Fire and smoke involved a total of 8 units. The fire is under investigation. Southwest Gas and Nevada Energy were notified to respond to assist with utilities.
 
 American Red Cross was notified to assist with 20 adults and 10 children who were occupants of 5 apartments who were displaced.
 
One patient was treated for smoke inhalation and was transported in unknown condition to Spring Valley Hospital. 
 
Damages have not been estimated.
