A 3-year-old girl has died from a drowning that occurred last night in North Las Vegas.

On July 4 at about 8 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Spottswood Avenue regarding an unresponsive child who found in a swimming pool.

Medical personnel arrived and transported the 3-year-old child to UMC Pediatrics where she was listed in extremely critical condition.

Today, law enforcement officials were advised that the child died at the hospital this morning.

The preliminary investigation indicates the people at the residence were having a 4th of July party where several people were swimming in the backyard pool. Witnesses said the 3-year-old child was one of many people in the pool.

It was reported that she was unresponsive at the time she was retrieved from the bottom of the pool.

No charges have been filed at this time. This remains as an ongoing investigation.
