LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Clark County School District calendar for next school year has been approved by the board of trustees.

Students will no longer have the full week of Thanksgiving off, instead they get Wednesday through Friday off.

Staff development days are back on the calendar as well.

Additionally, the school year is being extended by one week to fit in academic and athletic calendars.

Also, three contingency days are now spread throughout the school year to provide more alternatives for students to be able to make up instructional time, should this be needed due to weather conditions and other potential interruptions of the instructional calendar.

The first day of school is August 10.
