2 sentenced in Lee's Liquor 2016 deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two brothers were sentenced on Wednesday in connection to the shooting and killing a Las Vegas man in a violent robbery years ago.

Matthew Christensen was working at Lee's Discount Liquor when he was killed.

Now, Lee Dominic Sykes and Lee Murry Sykes will both be in jail for years.

One brother received 25 to 65 years for the crime and the other received 15 to 40 years.

A third suspect involved is set to be sentenced in January.

Christensen's family was in court on Wednesday. His aunt asked for the maximum penalty.

His family says he was working three jobs at the time, saving up for a new car.

Christensen also had plans to quit the clerk job, they said.
