Two people were displaced in a Henderson townhouse fire late Sunday night.
The Henderson Fire Department responded to a fire in the 100 block of East Van Wagenen Street, near East Lake Mead Parkway and South Water Street, around 11:40 p.m.
The first arriving engine crew observed heavy fire coming from the front door and windows of a one-story townhouse. Firefighters initiated an offensive attack and entered the home, quickly extinguishing the fire.
The fire was discovered by the resident, who safety exited the home and called 911.
Four engines, one truck, two rescue units and an air resource apparatus responded to the fire.
One adult and one child were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters.
The cause of the fire has not been determined. The total estimated loss is $40,000.
