Two people are dead and two dogs were also killed in a crash early Sunday morning near Rainbow Boulevard and Alta Drive on the west side of the valley.
The crash happened before 5 a.m. Witnesses told police that the GMC Sierra pickup truck involved in the crash ran a red light and then hit a Hyundai Sonata. Both vehicles went through the intersection and into the block wall of a residential home on the northeast corner.

Both occupants of the Sonata, a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, were pronounced dead on scene. They were the 46th and 47th traffic-related fatalities in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2016.
Three people in the GMC, all 23 years old, were also injured and transported to UMC Trauma with moderate injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
Neighbors say cars and motorcycles constantly travel through the intersection faster than the speed limit.
"Because Alta is a smaller street, people don't heed to the light like they would at Sahara or Charleston, which is a major intersection," Dan Shinder said. "They don't pay attention. The freeway's right up there so I think some people are just in a hurry to get to the freeway."
