As many as 19 people were displaced by an apartment fire Sunday afternoon.
Around 5 p.m., the Clark County Fire Department received multiple calls about an apartment on fire in the 300 block of East Harmon Avenue, between Koval Lane and Paradise Road.
Upon arrival fire crews found a heavy amount of fire coming from a second-floor apartment and through the roof of the building. A second alarm was immediately called by the first arriving crews bringing a total of 50 firefighters to the scene. Battling not only the fire itself but the extreme heat of the day firefighters reported a knockdown of all active fire approximately 35 minutes after their arrival.
The American Red Cross was called to assist as many as 15 adults and 4 children who have been displaced by this fire.
There are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated around $500,000.
