A young student at Keller Middle School, who was attacked in a viral video, has come forward to tell her side of the story.
13 Action News first reported the video about two weeks ago. It features Vanessa Wallace being beaten up by fellow students.
Vanessa is part of an active investigation to find the teenagers responsible for a series of brutal attacks against Keller Middle School students.
"We were just sitting down minding our own business and these kids just come up,” Vanessa says. “We've seen them around before. If they're not at school, then they're on your way home."
She told police her side of the story for the first time, Wednesday.
Vanessa says May 9 is the first time she was targeted while walking home near the intersection of Charleston and Nellis boulevards. That was the last day Vanessa was a student at Keller Middle School.
"I didn't feel very safe there because they say said that if we told the police that they were going to come back after us," Vanessa said.
Wednesday, Vanessa and her mother went to the police, not long after filing a report, and named some of those involved.
She says she had to identify one of the fighters in a line-up of photos.
So far, no arrest warrants have been issued.
