UPDATE: Victim identified in Friday fatal shooting

UPDATE: The victim of the shooting passed away while in the hospital Friday evening. He was identified as 34-year-old Clarence McQuarpers of Las Vegas.

The suspect who was arrested was identified as 28-year-old Michael Rusk. He faces charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery.

Police are seeking at least one other suspect.

This was the 78th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016. Police are still determining a motive.

ORIGINAL STORY

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police say one person has been shot in the 400 block of North Nellis Boulevard near East Bonanza Road.

Police received the call at 2:06 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition.

Police say that the victim exchanged words with the suspects before being shot. The suspects fled the scene in a Kia.

After crashing, they ran away. One suspect kicked in the door of a nearby apartment and then jumped out the back window. That suspect was later arrested.

The other two suspects got away.
