The Sazerac is a local New Orleans variation of a cognac or whiskey cocktail, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac brandy that served as its original main ingredient.
Southern Comfort 80 – 2 oz.
Angostura bitters – 3 dashes
Pernod – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp (1 sugar packet)
Water – 3 drops
Lemon peel - Garnish
Chill an Old Fashioned glass
In a mixing glass, combine sugar, bitters, and a few drops of water
Mix until sugar is dissolved
Add Southern Comfort 80 and ice
Stir for about 30 seconds
Pour Pernod into your chilled glass, and rotate glass until the inside is well coated
Discard the excess
Strain the liquid from your mixing glass into the Old Fashioned glass
Twist a piece of lemon peel over the drink
