A surprising change is coming to the Boulevard Mall on Maryland Parkway.
A spokesman for the mall confirmed the insurance company Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield will move into the old, shuttered Macy's. They're expected to have close to 850 people working there.
The spokesman says Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield will put millions of dollars into remodeling the area and have it ready by summer.
The mall has been moving away from the traditional retail model. A new 41,000-square-foot entertainment complex will feature 60 pieces of 3D art, a virtual reality attraction and multiple escape rooms. They're hoping to open that before March.
