LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Santiago’s Taco Shop - a food truck - located on Twain Avenue and University Center Drive got 24 demerits when it was inspected on Aug. 9.
That would normally result in a C grade, but the health district took one step further and shut Santiago’s down due to an imminent health hazard - improper disposal of sewage.
The inspector saw wastewater dripping from the food truck and noted the tank was full and in the red zone. Neither staff nor the owner knew where the sewage tank was located.
Other violations included hot water that wasn’t hot enough, pork that had to be thrown out due to unsafe temperatures, and no certified food protection manager on-site as required - a repeat violation.
Santiago's was re-inspected on Aug. 12 and received a zero demerit A grade.
A voicemail message requesting comment was not immediately returned.

Also, employees were soaking and sanitizing food equipment in the sink while wastewater was dripping into the same basins from condensate lines.
Jugos y Licuados was re-inspected on Aug. 6 and got a zero-demerit A grade.
There was no answer at the facility's phone number.

2 Wheels Bar on Nevada Way in Boulder City was shut down Aug. 3 due to inadequate employee handwashing facilities.

He added that only part of the facility was closed.
